Front Garden: Many large squash. The largest, a yellow pumpkin is a hand-span in diameter. There are several other green striped ones, all about the size of my fist. The main stress in the garden at the moment is the wind. I would like to plant some small trees or shrubs into it to help with that problem. The largest corn plant fell over. The tomatilloes from Katarina have some fruits that are already the size of a big marble. The calendula in the West Corner by the Rhubarb is just opening the first of about 4 flowers. The lemon basil is delicious and is also doing quite well. Hopefully we'll get some seed off it. The garlic has already got bulbils at the top. The tops have been open for about a week now. The bulbils come off quite readily when brushed with the fingers. The everbearing strawberries are yielding two or three ripe berries a day and have been for the past 5 days at least.

Greenhouse: Maren sowed some seed trays: 25 Parris Island Cos Lettuce, 25 Endive "early green moss curled" and 72 Buttercrunch lettuces. Yesterday, I direct-seeded Chantenay Red Cored Carrots and Organic Mild Green Mix. I mixed the seeds with old donkey dung and sowed balls of that.
