Got back to NS on Wednesday. There's a lot growing. Rhubarb and strawberries are doing very well. The  strawberries' runners have spread and the whole patch is growing quite thickly. There are many green strawberries on the plants, some as big as my first thumb joint. There currant bushes are also full of green fruit as are the two gooseberry bushes. There are only a few asparagus shoots. The pear tree is carrying a lot of green fruits, again about an inch long. The nectarine tree is struggling with a disease that is making its leaves curl up. The plum tree seems to be doing well. There are leeks from last year dotted about the garden that survived the winter. There are also a few onions. Poppies are coming up in the E corner by the greenhouse where we had two last summer. Self-seeded radishes are coming up by the house's E corner among the peas and spinach that Maren planted before she left. Salsify is also coming up there. Chinese salad mallows are coming up where a few went to seed last year. Many garlics survived from last year and several ones are coming up where I planted the bulbils.

In the past few days we have planted dill, parsnip, lettuce, soy beans, pole beans, fava beans, carrots and walking onions throughout. Doro gave us some lettuce seedlings which we have also planted out.
